As most of you know, we don’t don hats at our weddings (or behave like J-Lo in ‘The Wedding Planner’); it’s all flat shoes, practical clothes and hard work, but it’s certainly been a record summer for weddings. Each one has been spectacular and wonderful and a real honour to be involved with; here are just some of the highlights.

We successfully arranged a London fiesta for 80 Spaniards and Germans, including river boat transportation, landmark maritime venue in quirky Greenwich (http://www.nmm.ac.uk) and with a real focus on fabulous food, wine and hospitality.

Next was a very moving humanist blessing in the marquee setting of a stunning private home in Oast-house country, Kent.

Late summer was particularly busy, with not one, but two Iranian weddings at The Mandarin Oriental and Cliveden respectively, complete with amazing colour, tradition, rhythm and of course some seriously beautiful wedding outfits.

Finally, an intimate outdoor blessing and afternoon tea on a simply perfect summers day in Henley-on-Thames at remote Temple Island complete with a stylish dinner dance hosted at the very cool Hotel du Vin.

The Bespoke Wedding Company has once again entered the Wrapit Wedding Industry Awards under the category of wedding planner. Voting has now closed and finalists will be announced on 17 December - please wish us luck! Winning the awards has been fantastic this year; it’s raised the company’s profile, the new clients love it and it’s been wonderful to have the recognition for all those hours and all that hard work. Work continues with the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners and this autumn we’ve been running yet more nationwide training courses for new entrants to this exciting industry. The Alliance is also running workshops for existing planners on topics ranging from floral design to financial management and everything else in between.The new year sees the launch of new types of training, so do keep checking the website for more information on what we’re up to.
